LAMINATED PROCESSES
Breakthrough Resistant® laminated
Glass
Two pieces of glass are thoroughly washed
in our state of the art 60" open top glass washer.
The required interlayer tape is placed around the perimeter
of one lite, with the following second lite, which is aligned
and placed into position on the tape. A laminating resin
is then poured in between the two lites of glass. The laminated
glass is now set aside for the resin curing process.
Safety-Plus® Glass
Two pieces of glass are treated similarly
as above. The required interlayer tape is placed along the
perimeter of the first lite, then a special P.E.T film is
placed over the taped piece of glass and cut to size. This
film is laminated to the first piece of glass as previously
described. The glass is then set-aside for 24 hours of curing
before the second piece of glass is laminated to the first.
Once again the glass is put aside for curing. This laminating
process makes the glass almost impossible to break through.
This glass, which meets the Dade County's
Hurricane Resistant Glass requirements, is capable of resisting
"Smash and Grab" specialists.
Besides having the benefits of many
years of research and development by Glasslam NGI Inc.,
AGS has embarked on a comprehensive testing program. This
includes the testing of both long-term water immersion and
long-term separation. These programs have now been in place
for a long time and are ongoing.
